Those that are still hanging in there blogging life away!
JD and I went and registered today for baby stuff! Lots of fun. By fun I mean stress!
After we registered for the main items, JD came up with a great question!
So, here it is and I need lists!!! Thanks all!
What are some things you WISH you had registered for that you didn't get or that you realized you needed after the baby was born?

I would have liked one of the portable swings. The ones that are really little. Then you can take them with you when you go visit grandparents.
Make sure whatever you get is collapsible..and easy to collapse. When you register for more stuff, take it off the shelf and see how it collapses.
also, used is WONDERFUL. if you dont get what you need, head to the thrift store. They have some amazing deals on things!
Lastly...dont forget stuff for you, Lanolin & Nursing pads.
There wasn't a lot that we were missing but I loved the portable swing and I have wanted one that changes direction. They are so nice! You can swing them front to back or side to side.
I also have wanted a nice bouncer! something that will vibrate softly, it's comforting to them and easier to carry around for short trips if it's collapsible... see comment above :) Portable is important!
I think one of the things I liked with my last 2 was to have a sling. There are times when they are fussy and want to be held. With the sling they are held close to you and your body and yet your hands are still free to cook dinner and what not. Good luck! You will be an AWESOME mom!!!
p.s I have a carset with base and stroller if you want it. Let me know.
I meant car seat.
I second the sling. Two things I could not have done without are my boppy and a nursing cover. Lanolin is a must too. Start using it a couple of weeks before your due and it will save you a lot of pain. It makes nursing a lot easier. Having a swing is really nice too. If you get a swing make sure it's one the that baby can lay down in. I had a portable one that sat up to much and the baby couldn't sit in it until about 3 months old because he didn't have enough neck control.
I have loads of advice, so if you want anymore tips just send me an email and I'll fill you in.
I got all my own "special" items I knew people couldn't find at the mainstream stores. I didn't register for hooded towels or baby wash cloths. I should have. Anyway, register for something big and have someone in charge of a pool for it. That's how I got our convertible car seat! (FYI the slings at the stores are usually crapola. I liked my Hotslings, but Becca got a Sleepy Wrap and it looks so comfy that I think I'll try that next time.)
I have a Sweet Pea Ring sling. You can get them online at www.sweatpearingslings.com. You can sometimes find them on ebay too. I got mine on ebay for about $20. They are fully adjustable and strong.
A good sling is a must. There is a lady that does sling classes at the NKC Hospital and she has tons of different kinds you can try. She never pressures you to buy hers either and they are a bit expensive. But she can answer all your questions and give some great tips. She also has a website: babysosmart.com. You can email and ask if she comes to the Liberty Hospitals, too.
Also, I make homemade hooded towels and like them much better than store bought. Super easy and quick. Makeitandloveit.blogspot.com has a great tutorial.
I think LeeAnne should hold a baby tips class sometime. I'd go!
I love my boppy. I used it all the time, when nursing and just to keep them propped up instead of flat on their backs or tummies during the day.
Also, I always wanted a sling, got a crummy baby carrier instead... HATE it. Get a sling.
Smart thinking! My favorite baby item was my nursing cover, also known as a "hooter Hider" or "Udder Cover":) I didn't realize how much I would value this and therefore didn't even as for one, so I ended up buying my own online! Best money I ever spent; however, the ones online are better, way cuter then the ones in the store! Don't go out and buy your own just yet, you might spoil someone's baby gift, hint, hint:)
